Colorado's SB 24-205 is the most aggressive. It treats any AI system used in "consequential decisions" — hiring, lending, insurance, housing — as high-risk and requires documented impact assessments before deployment. The law was supposed to take effect in February 2026 but got pushed to June after industry pushback.
